Earl Byers, 60, of Jones County, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 5:00PM at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with the Reverends Mike Gordon and Len Woodard officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Per Earl’s request “to pay it forward,” contributions may be made to Brightmoor Hospice, 3247 Newnan Road, Griffin, GA 30223.
Earl was a longtime salesman for Riverside Ford. He loved fishing, Harley Davidsons, fast cars, and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren). Earl was a jokester who loved telling and hearing jokes. His mornings were spent listening to the Casting Crowns while drinking coffee on his front porch. Earl loved to attend the Rod Run Car Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Earl is predeceased by his parents, Earl Windsor Byers, Sr and Patricia Gail Shaw Byers; and sister, Jan Byers.
Earl is survived by his wife, Sherry Byers of Jones County; three children, Dustin Byers (Brooke) of Bostic, NC, Danielle Vanhoy (Jason) of Ellenboro, North Carolina, and Kollin Byers (Morgan) of Bostic, North Carolina; two stepchildren, Stephanie Mikus (Joe) of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, and Stephen Cockrell (Shawni) of Gray; 10 grandchildren, Jade, Riley, Mabree, Grayli, Sophia, Salem, Alex, Aiden, Channing, and River; brother, Derek Shaw (Denita) of Boiling Springs, North Carolina; sister, Lisa Byers Holland (Roger) of Shelby, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, his Riverside Ford family, and his fur babies, Rudy and Sugar.
Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032, has charge of arrangements.
