Dorothy Bartlett

Dorothy Gwendolyn Bartlett, age 98, entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 16, 2022, at her home in Macon, GA. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19. 2022, at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road Macon, GA. Interment will follow at Macon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Dorothy was born on October 28, 1923, in Macon, GA. She lived throughout the eastern U.S. with her husband who was in the U.S. Air Force. Returning to Macon in 1962 to raise her family, she worked for many years in management at Keebler Company. Dorothy was the matriarch of a large, loving family and enjoyed traveling the world with them. She will be remembered for her strength, beauty, fine southern cooking, and spunk in abundance. Living a full life spanning close to 99 years, she leaves many fond memories that will be cherished by family and friends. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby McMullen Gatliff and Ira Clifford Heath; her husband Andrew Paul Bartlett, Sr.; brothers, Murray Heath, John Heath, Robert Heath, and James Gatliff; sister Loretta Brewer. She is survived by sons, Andrew P. Bartlett, Jr. (Annette), and Robert L. Bartlett, all of Macon; daughters Gwen B. Lawrence of Milledgeville and Sharon L. Bartlett of Atlanta; grandchildren, Tracy Graves (Chuck) of Goodyear, AZ, Heath Lawrence (Ann) of Milledgeville, Bart Lawrence of Athens, Lindsay Everett, and Allison Green (Brooks) all of Macon; and by 8 loving great-grandchildren. Her surviving, caring sisters include Agnes Daniels of Forsyth, GA, Nell Rodes of St. Petersburg, FL, and Janie Underwood of Mobile, AL.
