Diane was born in Macon, Georgia, November 25, 1955 to Harlow and Madine Boutwell. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Central Georgia Technical College and worked in Georgia and Michigan as a registered nurse for nearly 20 years. She loved her career as a nurse, but in 2014, she was called to a new career and ministry as a substance abuse counselor at Heart Ministries in Lavonia, Georgia, where she worked every day to not only save her own life, but to help change the lives of others. In February of 2020, she received her professional certification as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC-I).
Diane loved the Lord, she loved to laugh, she loved her friends and family and she especially loved her cats and her Coca-Cola.
