David “Tony” Howington, 77, of Macon, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Vineville Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Kremer officiating. Social distancing and masks are required. The service will be livestreamed on Hart’s Mortuary’s Facebook page and Vineville Baptist Church’s website https://www.vbcmacon.org/. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. Born in Macon to the late David and Dot Howington, Tony graduated from Lanier High School in 1962. He then attended Valdosta State University before serving six years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at Lamar Pontiac until he and his wife opened Home Instead Senior Care in 1997. His passions were boating, water skiing, and enjoying spending time at their vacation home in Hilton Head. Tony was a member of Vineville Baptist Church and the Wil Platt Sunday School Class.
Tony is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Johnson Howington of Macon; son, Andy Howington of Commerce, Georgia; daughter, Wendy Howington of Macon; two sisters, Deryl H. Amoss (Dan) of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and Dianne Shalibo (Kent) of Big Canoe, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Becky Drain (Bryan) of Houston, Texas, Dotty Jones (Bill) of Milledgeville, Emily Cisco (Mark) of Byron, Bert Hatcher (Joana) of Jacksonville, Florida, Gary Wood (Amy) of Long Beach, California, and Grant Wood (Laura) of Roswell, Georgia; and several great nieces and great nephews.
