Crockett graduated from Miller High School in Macon, Ga in 1958 where she was a Senior Superlative, and then, after initially attending Salem College in Winston Salem, NC, transferred to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 1961 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and where she and Barry first met. Crockett and Barry were married in 1963. They initially settled in Virginia Beach, VA where Barry was stationed in the Navy aboard the USS Aldebaran. In 1984, Crockett and Barry returned permanently to Macon where she was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, and The Masqueraders. She was a charter member and avid supporter of Ingleside Baptist Church where she was involved in various ministries over the course of her lifetime. Her personal interests included needlepointing, playing the piano, gardening and entertaining, with the unique accomplishment of obtaining her private pilot’s license at the age of 41.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Barry Sellers, originally of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, along with their daughter, Margaret Sellers Elliott (Bruce), of Macon, Ga, their son, Rader Johns Sellers (Kate), of Macon, Ga, their daughter, Crockett Sellers Miller (Travis), of Ellerslie, GA, their former daughter in law, Allison Caldwell Church (Brad), of Fernandina, Fl, and 11 grandchildren. Crockett also leaves behind her brother Chovine Richardson Rader, Jr. (Wimberly) of Macon, Ga, and her brother Hugh Gordon Rader (Patti), of Macon, Ga, as well as a host of friends.

She will be remembered for generously opening and sharing their beautiful home with family, friends and the community to celebrate special occasions, including the weddings of both daughters. Many will remember Crockett for her open and outgoing personality that invited genuine conversation. Her family will primarily remember her for her faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and for imparting that faith in her children and grandchildren as well as for her deep love of her family.
