Christine “Chris” Murr

Christine “Chris” Murr, 95, of Gray, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery with the Reverend John Haney officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gray United Methodist Church, 117 S. Jefferson St., Gray, GA 31032 or donor’s favorite charity.

Daughter of the late James Christian and Blanche Johnson, Mrs. Murr was a member of Gray United Methodist Church and active in Women in Missions, bible study, and Vintage Choir.   She was a retired bookkeeper from Meadors Wall and Company.  She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Business Society and a member of the Red Hat Society.  She was also a member of the Girls’ Night Out Group that regularly met for 45 years.  Mrs. Murr was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dale Murr.

Mrs. Murr is survived by her daughter, Diane Hutto (Mike) of Gray; grandchild, Mari Hutto of Macon; brothers, Blaine Johnson (Darlene) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tommy Johnson (Brenda) of Atlanta; sisters, Elaine Hopson of Baltimore, Maryland, Kay Stout (Barton) of Johnson City, Tennessee, Mary Ann Hagy of Baltimore, and Wilma Glass of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
