Charlie Ernest Martin, 80, of Macon passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola.
Mr. Martin was the son of the late William Norman and Mamie Taylor Valentine Martin. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Macon. During his life, he worked for Colonial Bread Company, Krystal, and Captain D’s. He worked as a district manager for Krystal’s in Warner Robins and Perry. In the late 80s, he transitioned to Captain D’s, where he managed in Fort Valley until 1995. He loved going to Macon Go Kart tracks on Saturday and Macon Peaches baseball games on Sunday with family. He was best known for making people feel good, making them feel beautiful, and loved. He was a selfless man who always put others before himself. He never knew a stranger, only love. He loved the Lord, and he loved praying with others.
Mr. Martin is survived by his children, Sandra Martin Davis (Doug) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Charlie Ernest Martin, II of Tennessee; grandchildren, Lauran Linch (Christopher) of Perry, Ashlyn Malcom (Chaz) of Warner Robins, and Jaidan Crosby of Warner Robins; great grandchildren, River Malcom, Paityn Linch, and Prestynn Linch; nephew, David Price (Duane); great nieces and nephew, Heather Bailey (Bryan), Carly Jones (Richard) and Cayce Price (Emily); and cousins, Lisa and Jerry Hamrick.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Martin has made his home at Pruitt Peake. Jurlene Kendrick, Lance Johnson and Lee Johnson have been with him since day one and are considered family. The family deeply appreciates all the staff that has taken part in Mr. Martin’s care through the years.
