Carolyn B. Johns

Carolyn Beatrice Johns, 90, of Macon, died Saturday, July 30, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Hart’s at the Cupola, with the Reverend John Haney officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.

Ms. Johns, a native and lifelong resident of Bibb County, was a Methodist. She graduated from Miller High School, where she was a charter member of the Future Teachers of America. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University. Ms. Johns taught fourth grade at Joseph Clisby School for 30 years.  She held a “Life” Certificate. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Georgia Education Association, and the Bibb Education Association.

Ms. Johns was preceded in death by her father, Julian Clyde Johns; mother, Beatrice Slocumb Johns; and her twin brother, William Clyde Johns.
