Carol Dawkins Davis, 81, of Macon, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. A Celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, with the Reverend Chris Barbee officiating. Burial will be private at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carol was born in Eufaula, Alabama on September 20, 1941. She was a graduate of Warner Robins High School and attended Mercer University. She loved to dance and taught a dance class at the Officer’s Club at Robins Air Force Base. She was an avid reader, enjoyed scrapbooking, and loved taking pictures. Her favorite artist was Claude Monet. She was a staunch conservative who loved politics. Carol was a devoted grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Donna Graham (Frank) of Morganton, Georgia, and Diane Self of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Robert Wells of Austin, Texas, Kathleen Wells (Aaron Sewell) of Austin, Texas, Alyson Wells of Denver, Colorado, Chandler Graham of Marietta, Georgia, Tara Fisher (Nathan) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Joshua Self of Macon, Georgia; great-grandchild, Rhea Stella Sewell of Austin, Texas, sister, Kipling Rugg (Jim) of Conroe, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and former husband, Ernie Davis (Doylene) of Lizella, Georgia.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Dawkins and Caroline Helms Holmes; sister, Ann Roseth; and brother, David Holmes.
