Bill Currie, 81 of Macon Ga, passed away peacefully at his home Friday morning April 8, 2022, after an extended illness. Services will be held Tuesday, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Glen Haven Cemetery, Macon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar St, Macon, GA 31201.
Bill was born in Detroit Michigan November 4, 1940, to Thomas and Ann Sabino Currie. After service in Army, which included Germany and Byron GA, he decided to stay in Macon and make it his home. Bill spent 47 years in the local tire business, owning and retiring from Williamson Tires. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Bill was also, a member of St Joseph Catholic Church. Bill’s favorite past times included sports especially Atlanta Braves, an avid softball player himself, crossword puzzles, old music, and most special spending time with his family. His love and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his caring wife of 25 years, Connie Baker Currie; daughters, Lisa (Ricky) Heath, Billie Jo (Roger) Heath, and stepdaughter Sheri (Larry) McKinney; grandchildren, Mallory (Bob) Cummings, Tyler Heath, Megan Heath, Logan Heath, Jared Heath, and step grandsons, Gabe and Keegan Turner; brother, Kenneth Currie of Michigan; great granddaughter, Evie Cummings; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Thomas Currie Jr, Father Donald Currie ad first wife Patricia Currie, mother of his children.
