Betty Bragg Lowe, 88, of Gray, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Gray United Methodist Church with the Reverends John Haney and Jason Dillard officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be held at Highview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gray United Methodist Church, 117 S Jefferson St, Gray, GA 31032, or Homestead Hospice, 500 Osigian Blvd Suite 300, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Mrs. Lowe was the daughter of the late Earle Smith and Mary Greene Bragg. She was a caregiver for all who loved to talk and cook for everyone. She loved to jitterbug with her twin brother, Bobby. She was known for wearing her red lipstick and kissing all the babies, leaving her mark on their cheeks. She crocheted and shared many pieces with family and friends. Every baby had their own blanket. All her children have bedspreads she made. She didn’t have idle hands. She enjoyed going to the Georgia-Florida football games and eating out on Friday nights with the “Wild Bunch”. As a young girl, Mrs. Lowe was a member of the Tri-Hi-Y in Jones County. She was a cheerleader for football season in 1949-1950. She went to Girls State in 1950 and was outstanding in her FHA work. She took Home Economics for 3 years and won first place in DAR fashion Revue in 1949 and 1950. She was pub Chair, refreshment Chair and convention delegate for the FHA. She was voted the neatest girl in the Senior Class. Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Herbert Lowe, Jr. and twin brother, Robert "Bobby" E. Bragg.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by her children, John Lowe (Kela), Deborah Elizabeth Tillman, Barbara Pruett, and Billy Lowe (Ginger), all of Gray; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and sister, Ann Bohr of Ormond Beach, Florida.
