Bettie Hollis Jordan Wood

Bettie Hollis Jordan Wood, 87, of Lizella, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the presence of her family.   A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Stone Edge Church, with Pastor Joey Ellis officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Bettie was born in Crawford County to the late William Hollis Jordan and Sara Beth Adams. She grew up in Macon and graduated from A L Miller High School. Shortly after graduation, she married the late Roy Lee Wood, and together they had two sons, Charles Wood (Ellen) and the late Greg Wood (Dawn). Bettie was a homemaker after her boys were born. She always attended church and became a Christian at age 37 while attending Mulberry Methodist Church. Later she joined High Point Baptist, and then Stone Edge Church, where she was still a member.

She has four grandchildren that she lived next door to as they grew up. She loved watching them grow into young men and women. Her grandchildren are: Tyler Wood, Courtney Watkins (Richard), Conner Wood (Susanna), and Katherine Wood.  Bettie claims three precious jewels in her three great-grandchildren, Emory Wood, Sawyer Wood, and Nathan Watkins. Bettie’s mother always said you should have great grandchildren first and Bettie totally agreed.

Bettie is survived by eight siblings: Roscoe Adams, of Lake Sinclair, Carolyn Hubbard (Joe), of Macon, Johnny Adam (Carol), of Alpharetta, Joe Adams (Evelyn), of Macon, Larry Jordan (Bettye), of Crestview, Florida, Sammy Jordan, of Crestview, Florida, Debra Tyler (Ben), of Crestview, Florida, and Wilma Salisbury (Mark), of Crestview, Florida.
