Bernae Holton Mink

Bernae Holton Mink, age 68, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernae will be remembered at a memorial service on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11 AM, Temple Beth Israel, 892 Cherry Street in Macon. The family will greet friends following the service at Temple Beth Israel. Burial will be private at William Wolff Cemetery.

Bernae was a retired, life-long educator in the Bibb County School District. Born in Macon and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Bernae was a teacher at Morgan Elementary, and counselor at Springdale Elementary and later Howard Middle School. Bernae was loved and admired by students, faculty and parents who were helped by her calm manner and kindness. Her hobbies included playing cards with her life-long friends, buying clothes for the grandchildren she adored and watching Hallmark movies.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 39 years, Lawrence; sons Noah (Rachel) of Alexandria, Virginia and Brian (Amelia) of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughters Emma and Sophie and grandson Thatcher. She is also survived by her sisters Marilyn Walker and Anneilia Holton Williams, brother Neil Holton, Jr.;  nephew Jason (Sonya) Walker; and other extended family members. Bernae was preceded in death by her parents Neil and Maudine Holton.
