Barbara Lindsey Veazey

Barbara Lindsey Veazey died May 12, 2014, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Veazey was a lifelong resident of Alexander City, AL before moving to Macon, GA in 2006 due to failing health. The daughter of Bob and Frances Lindsey, she was a graduate of The University of Alabama and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Louis Veazey, for fifty years until his death in 2006. A real estate broker specializing in properties on Lake Martin, she owned Barbara Veazey Realty for more than 30 years. Mrs. Veazey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club and Tuesday Afternoon Study Club. An accomplished artist and gardener, books and travelling were her passions. She is survived by her sons, the Reverend Robert Veazey and his wife, Nora, of Macon, GA; and Louis "Butch" Veazey and his wife, Mary Nell, of Hendersonville, TN; and her grandchildren, 1st Lieutenant Foster Veazey and his wife, Meredith, of Pensacola, FL, Miss Weathers Veazey of Homewood, AL, and Miss Anna Veazey of Hendersonville, TN. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 7th at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, Alexander City, AL. The family will receive friends one hour preceding the service.
