Astrid Sjolund Pearce

Astrid Sjolund Pearce, 76, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2PM Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Hart’s Chapel at the Cupola.

Daughter of the late Waldmere Sjolund and Mary Abrahmsson Sjolund, Astrid was born on February 16, 1947, in Sweden.  She was the youngest of six children and brought joy and love to everyone who knew her.  She studied at UMEA University, before moving to the United States in 1968, where she began a new chapter of her life.  She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent over 30 years in the apartment industry. For the last 20 years, she served as the assistant manager of The Estates at Barrington. Her colleagues and residents admired her for her dedication, kindness, and the genuine care she showed to everyone. Astrid was an amazing woman, and her warm personality and loving nature made her a favorite among all who knew her.

Astrid will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Erika Durden (Jason) of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Austin, and Abbey Durden; fiancé, Lindsay Kiser; niece and her children, Monica, David, and Crystal Dixon; and sisters, Ida Margot Sjolund Edlund and Kathy Sjolund Ronngren.

In addition to her parents, Astrid was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Hugh Lord, Sr.; first husband, Paul Akers Pearce; siblings: Gosta Sjolund, Roland Sjolund, John Sjolund, and Waldemar Sjolund.
