Arnold Clayton "Doopy" Peters, Sr.

Mr. Arnold Clayton “Doopy” Peters, Sr., 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 11, 2021.    

He was born to Carneal and Nina Peters in Eastview, Kentucky on November 27, 1938. Upon graduating Lynnvale High School in White Mills, Kentucky, Arnold began employment with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation in July of 1957. He was relocated with the company in July 1979 to Macon, Georgia where he retired after a successful career of 37 years. He married his beloved wife, Patricia LaFouge Gutierrez Peters, in May 1975. Arnold was an avid hunter, enjoyed working around the house, watching NASCAR, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, and he loved spending time with his children and grandson. 

Arnold is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Peters of Macon; son, Arnold Clayton Peters, Jr. of Macon; daughter Christina Gutierrez Beck of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandson, Braden Beck of Warner Robins; brother, Farlan Peters (Faye) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; sister, Odaleen Johnson of Cecilia, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews. 

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, Carneal and Nina Peters; and brothers, Owen, Maurice, and Vanis Peters. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice Care for their loving support over the last 14 months. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
