Anne Gatliff, 71, of Gray, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Elam Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at James Cemetery.
Anne was born in Macon, Georgia on December 17, 1950, to the late John and Jean Mathis. She retired from Bellsouth after 35 plus years of service. She was an avid adventurer and enjoyed many travels. She enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, riding motorcycles, and she was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Club. She was a very talented seamstress and loved sewing beautiful quilts. More than anything she loved her family, and she enjoyed making them big dinners, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Anne is survived by her husband, Ricky Gatliff, of Gray, Georgia; children, Julie Happoldt, (Lamar) of Gray, Georgia, Brian Locke (Samantha), of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jason W. Gatliff (Janna), of Gallatin, Tennessee; grandchildren: Cody Turner, Nikki Darley, Jeffrey Happoldt, Brian Happoldt, Avery Gatliff, and A.J. Locke; great-grandchildren, Garrett Darley, Owen Darley, and Eliana Happoldt; sister, Judy Langley (Clyde), of Gray, Georgia, and lifelong best friend, Barbara Castle.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Mathis and sister, Betty Jean Mathis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anne's honor to the James Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, at 119 James Cemetery Road, Gray, Georgia 31032.
