Ann M. Brannen Wilkes, 99, of Macon, died Sunday July 18, 2021. She was born in Eufaula, Alabama to the late James S. Magee, Jr. And Marjorie Davis Magee. Ann moved to Macon when she was four years old. She graduated from Miller High School in 1939. Ann was an active member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women and served as president of her Sunday School Class for several years.
Ann retired as the office manager of Henderson Chemical Company. She was the former Worthy Matron of both the Dixie and Lizella chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was past president of Golden K Kiwanis of Macon and former District Grand Deputy for International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Ann was predeceased by her husbands, Grover C. Brannen, Jr and James Wilkes; son, Ben Brannen; brother, James S. Magee, Jr.; and sister, Estalena M. Fitts.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill Brannen (Deborah), Bob Brannen (Curry), and Nancy B. Kelley (Chris), all of Macon; grandchildren, Rianna Wade of Juliette, Jason Brannen (Becki), Elizabeth Kelley, and Joseph Kelley, all of Macon; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Brannen, Emma Brannen, and Will Wade.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Reverends Creede Hinshaw and Tommy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5PM to 7PM Monday at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street chapel.
