Alton Fowler, Jr., 78, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2:00pm at Real Life Church with Pastor Bo Turner and Pastor Brent Chaney officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm before the service. Interment will be held at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Real Life Church Mission Fund, 2491 Gray Hwy., Macon, GA 31211.
Mr. Fowler was a member of Real Life Church where he served as an elder and director of Missions. He traveled many times to El Salvador and Nicaragua on mission trips. He retired from Robins Air Force Base in December 2004, where he worked as an aircraft painter. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, fishing, and preaching. Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Fowler, Sr. and Louise Long Fowler; son, Alton Washington “Big Al” Fowler, III; great grandchild, Caylee Fowler; brother, Herman “Bo” Hogan; and sisters, Frances Wolfe and Mary Shipes.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gloria Ann Fowler; children, Angelia Harris, Donna Adams (Les), David Fowler (Tracy), Sherri Bowling, Sheila White (Mark), Gene Paulk, and Lisa Paulk; 11 grandchildren, Rose Mariani, Ashlynn Maddox, Stephanie Vartenisian, Jessica Taylor, Kayla Bertram, Mark White, Jr., Teresa Adams, Casey Ragsdale, Terri Fowler, Alton P. Fowler, and Laura McMillan; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Bill Fowler; and sisters, Beulah Bryant and Tina Thompson.
