Alan Robert Grayson, 71, of Macon died Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Born in NYC (Queens), New York and son of the late Robert and June Erickson Grayson, Mr. Grayson was a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, served as a pilot in the United States Air Force and retired as a Major. While in the Air Force, Mr. Grayson received a master’s degree from USC. Following his career in the Air Force, he was an IT Instructor, traveling the world with clients in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and beyond. Mr. Grayson was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Robert Grayson.
Mr. Grayson is survived by his wife, Dianne Grayson of Macon; children, Andrew Jay Grayson (Shannon) of Charleston, South Carolina and Matthew Alan Grayson of Jacksonville, Florida; stepson, Linton Solomon of Macon; grandchildren, William Finley “Finn” Grayson and Isla Harley Grayson, both of Charleston; step grandchildren, Garrett Solomon, Conner Solomon, and Haylee Solomon, all of Macon; brothers, Robert Eric “Rag” Grayson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Steven George Grayson (Angel) of Oakland Park, Florida; and sister, Grace Lynn Levine (Richard) of Coconut Creek, Florida.
Mr. Grayson’s interests included spoiling his grandchildren, traveling, constantly learning, pampering his dogs, and devoting much of his time and energy checking in with family to offer support and advice.
