Willie "Pete" Haywood, Jr., 80, of Gray, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023. Funeral services will be private.
Son of the late Willie Haywood, Sr. and Darlene Jones Haywood, Willie was born in Macon, Georgia on March 23, 1943. He retired from Armstrong Industries, where he worked as a machine operator. Outside of his professional career, Willie had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed racing them.
Willie is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Lowe (Antonio) of Macon, Georgia, Myderia Haywood-Gordon (Timothy) of Macon, Georgia, and Nicole Driskell of Byron, Georgia; son, Dexter Haywood (Ayanna) of Macon, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Antwon Haywood (Raven), Brandon Haywood, Courtney Gordon, Taneshia Blount, Taylor Driskell, Jakia Tate, and Faithe Haywood; twelve great-grandchildren; fiancé, Teresa Williams; siblings: Doris Howard of Macon, Georgia, Ralph Haywood, Sr. (Sandra) of Gray, Georgia, Carl Haywood (Tina) of Virginia, Calvin Haywood (Veronica) of Alaska, and Brenda Brown of Gray, Georgia; one devoted nephew, Truman Howard of Macon, Georgia; loving niece Hunter Brown of Gray, Georgia; and close friend, Ralph Walls of Milledgeville, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Willie Mae Brundage.
