Willie T. "Bill" Smith, Jr.

Willie T. “Bill” Smith, Jr., 72, of Eatonton, died Monday, February 1, 2021.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel officiated by the Reverend Christy Campbell.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Son of the late William Thomas Smith, Sr. and Betty Dunn Smith, Mr. Smith attended Dudley Hughes and Lanier High School.  He retired from IBEW Local #1316, was a member of the Mason Lodge 612 in Mokane, Missouri and 110 IBEW Brotherhood Club.  He was an avid fisherman and loved NASCAR and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra J. Smith of Eatonton; children, Robin Smith of Branson, Missouri, Sonya West of Pensacola, Florida, Vicki Banknell (Sean) of Macon, Tammi Morris (David) of Gray, and Eric Watson (Chasity) of Byron; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Johnny Bell (Dale) of Gray; and his spoiled-rotten furbaby, Abbie.
