William "Doug" Yancey

William "Doug" Yancey passed away on August 18, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00AM at Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Pastor Ed Chambless and Pastor Rusty Smith will be officiating with burial following at Glen Haven Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mikado Baptist Church Missions Fund, 6751 Houston Road., Macon, Georgia 31216. Doug is predeceased by his parents, William and Pauline Horton Yancey; sister, Helen Yancey Johnson; brother, Jack Yancey and sister, Billie Yancey Evans. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was Founder and President of Yancey Tire Company founded in 1982 and previously worked at Palmer Tire Company between 1956-1982. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Doug is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara S. Yancey; children, Bill Yancey (Tina), Caryl Yancey Deems (Michael), and David Yancey (Theresa); four grandchildren, one great grandchild; and siblings, Donald Yancey (Ann), Betty Yancey Parrish (Allen) and Sue Yancey Roach.
