William "Tony" Sloan Gavin, Jr.

William Sloan "Tony" Gavin, Jr., 58, died Sunday, January 12, 2014. Memorial services will be held 12:00PM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. There will be a reception following the service until 2:30PM. Mr. Gavin graduated from Stratford Academy where he was a member of AKO Fraternity. He also graduated from Mercer University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Mr. Gavin had a long career in restaurant supply sales. He was an avid memorabilia collector. He was predeceased by his father, William Sloan Gavin, Sr. Survivors include his three sons, William Sloan Gavin, III (Morgan) of Canton, Georgia, Walter Roland Gavin of Atlanta, and Kenneth Lamar Gavin of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Mary Paloma Gavin of Canton, William Sloan Gavin IV, of Canton; and David Mahone Gavin of Canton; mother, Frances Mahone Gavin of Macon; and sister, Susan Estelle Gavin of Macon.
