William Melton Guinn Sanders

William Melton Guinn Sanders (Bill), 86, of Lizella, died Saturday, September 26, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Benjamin Newberry officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Rd. Macon, GA, 31210.

Bill was born on January 8,1940 in Milner, GA to Yancey Hartley and Florence Sanders.

He retired from the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center after working 42 years, primarily as a Personnel Classification Manager. A longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bill’s greatest passions were his family, fishing, and gardening. He was widely known for growing some of the finest tomatoes around.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Judy Durden Sanders of Lizella; three children - Jeffrey Sanders (Robin) of Macon, Jody Sanders (Diane) of Macon, and Julianna Hallman (Gene) of Juliette, Georgia; seven grandchildren - Olivia Duckworth (Austin), Kady Katsekis (Alex), Summer Sanchez (Steve), Seth Sanders (Lacey), Susana Jensen (Race), Jordan Flores, and Genna Hallman; five great grandchildren - Sutherland, Niko, Gianna, Stratton, and Jack; and his brother, Sonny Sanders (Marsha) of Macon. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marie Sanders.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at John Wesley Villas and Zebulon Park Rehab for the compassionate care shown to Bill over the past year.
