William Perry Neal

William Perry Neal, 84, of Macon, GA, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Hart’s Chapel at the Cupola with the Reverend Tommy Jordan officiating.  The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola.  Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines IA 50340.

Son of the late William Irvin and Carlene Crabtree Neal, Mr. Neal was a veteran of the United States Army as a Green Beret.  He loved riding horses and he and his horse, Hobbs, competed up until Mr. Neal turned 72.  He was a member of Georgia Riders Endurance Association and rode in the Bicentennial Wagon Train in 1976.  He retired from Flight Service Station in Macon after 30 years as an air traffic controller.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hale.

Mr. Neal is survived by his children, Tonya Cunningham (Steve) of Griffin, Georgia and Gregory Bryce Neal, Sr. of Locust Grove, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Sanders, Loretta Childers, Linda Hayne, Pat Neal, and Cretta Cordell.
