Macon- Bill "Merry Christmas" Meriwether, 89, of 1940 Winston Drive, died Sunday, September 28, 2008. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary with the Reverends Glenn Clower and Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be private at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Georgia. The family may be contacted at 1136 Normandy Road and will greet friends immediately following the funeral service on Wednesday at Hart's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Art Center College of Design, 1700 Lida Street, Pasadena, California 91103 or to Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1415 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Meriwether was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was the son of the late Dr. William Wilson Meriwether, Sr. and the late Mattie D. Hudson Meriwether and was predeceased by his daughter, Meri Norris. He was a Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman. Mr. Meriwether was a member of Professional Photographers of American and the American Society of Photographers. He was past president of Southeastern Professional Photographers' Association and past president of Georgia Professional Photographers' Association.
Survivors include his wife, Betsy Meriwether of Macon; son, Bill Meriwether (Jeanene) of Macon; grandchildren, Meri Read, Wendi Norris, Summer Meriwether, Elizabeth Meriwether and Meri Christmas Meriwether; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dr. Tom Norris of Kansas City, Missouri.
