William Maxwell "Billy" Carr passed away at his residence in Savannah on February 5, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a visitation one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Danville City Cemetery, Danville, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Faith in Practice- Guatemala", 7500 Beechnut St. Suite 208, Houston, TX 77074. Billy graduated from Jones County High School in 1982 and went on to graduate from Emory University in 1986 with a degree in accounting. After working for Arthur Andersen as a certified public accountant, he served as controller and director of business development for Northside Hospital in Atlanta and later for St. Joseph-Candler Health System in Savannah until forming his own consulting company. He was very active in Faith in Practice in Guatemala, working with the medically underserved in rural villages. Billy was survived by his wife, Carmen Baiza; parents, B.C. and Vashti Carr of Gray; brothers Charles Carr (Sue) of Sandy Springs and John Carr (Marie) of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Catherine Carr of New York, NY and Natalie Carr of Sandy Springs.
