William Garrard, Jr.

Macon-William Thomas (Bill) Garrard, Jr. died July 23, 2009. Services will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 2:00PM in the chapel at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with Dr. Aubrey Sheats officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Bellevue Baptist Church building fund, 3396 Napier Avenue, Macon GA 31204 or Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon GA 31210. Mr. Garrard was born in Sparta, GA on April 16, 1918 to the late William Thomas Garrard, Sr. and the late Johnnie Boyer Garrard. Mr. Garrard was a deacon at Bellevue Baptist Church and a member of the Pathfinder's Sunday School Class. He was an avid fisherman. He truly loved everyone, especially his family. Mr. Garrard was predeceased by his two brothers, John Garrard and Mac Garrard; and his sister, Dimples Peters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene Hutcheson Garrard; daughters, Iris Ann Chambliss (Charlie), Melanie Burnette (Sam); grandchildren, Carey Wimberly (Charles), Kelly Chambliss, Marc Boyd (Tonia), Brandi Hunnicutt (Greg); great grandchildren, Aaron Wimberly, Savannah Ussery, Megan Hunnicutt, Spencer Boyd, Dixie Boyd; sisters, Bessie Gillespie, Ruth Meaders; sisters-in-law, Elaine Garrard, Betty Garrard; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Willie "Junior" Russell.
