William Willis "Jink" Mimbs passed away on December 23, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00AM at Greenwood Baptist Church. The Reverends Joe Ferguson and Grady Mimbs will be officiating with burial following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, GA 31032. Mr. Mimbs is predeceased by his parents Charlie and Monica Mimbs. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He also had a bivocational ministry where he led the music at West Macon Baptist, Lanier Heights Baptist, and Immanuel Baptist. He was a sergeant in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Mr. Mimbs worked for Timberlake Groceries and eventually retired from ACH Food Companies. He was instrumental in youth sports, served as a baseball umpire from little league to collegiate level competition. He loved the Atlanta Braves, having never missed a televised game in five years. Mr. Mimbs is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jewel Wallace Mimbs of Gray, son Larry Mimbs (Shelly) of Forsyth; daughter, Lonna Greene (Kurt) of Gray; four grandchildren, Leslie McNabb (Jarrett) of Montgomery, AL, Brad Mimbs of Forsyth, Kyle Peacock (Shelby) of Gray, and Kaley Thrasher (Cameron) of New London, CT; six great grandchildren; and brother, Grady Mimbs (Margaret) of Dublin.
