William Daniel Day, Jr.

November 8, 1946 — February 15, 2016

William "Danny" Day, 69, also affectionately known as "Bubba" to his family & close friends, passed away peacefully in a local hospital on Monday, February 15th, 2016. A Celebration of his life will be held in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 with the Reverend Tommy Perkins officiating . Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the funeral home. Danny grew up in South Macon and attended Willingham High School. He worked for the City of Macon Engineering Dept. as well as Tribble & Richardson as a surveyor. In 1987 he moved to Brandon, FL and worked as a process server until he retired in 2012. He enjoyed playing softball and guitar, had a wide assortment of musical interests, and loved spending time with family and friends. Danny was always smiling and never met a stranger. He was a lifelong member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his father William D. Day Sr., his mother Dorothy Grace Day Martin, and his step-father Herman E. Martin. Danny is survived by his sisters, Melanie Sherrell, Dottie Reich, Melissa Murray (Andy), Michelle Gowan (David), one brother Hank Martin (Lori) and nieces & nephews Trey Sherrell, Courtney Sherrell Hale, Jessica Reich Dempsey, Olivia Reich, Chase Gowan, Caroline Gowan, Hunter Martin, Hayden Martin, and numerous cousins who loved him.
