William Wade Avant, Sr.

Macon- William Wade Avant, Sr. of 101 Red Eagle Trail, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Dr. Neal Wall will officiate. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Friday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, 3396 Napier Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. Mr. Avant, son of the late William Hall Avant and the late Sally Lee Andrews, was born in Deepstep, GA in 1918. He was predeceased by his son, William Wade Avant, Jr., and by three brothers and three sisters. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. Avant was an employee of Chris Sheridan Construction Company for thirty-two years. A five year veteran of the United States Army, he served in World War II.
