Wilbur E. "Gene" Bush, Jr.

Macon- Wilbur E. "Gene" Bush, Jr., 53, of 820 Dogwood Circle, died Thursday, October 2, 2008. Services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery (North Gate). The family may be contacted at the residence of Wilbur Eugene Bush, Sr., 4665 Lattimore Drive and will receive friends at Hart's Mortuary on Saturday from 12:30PM until 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Children's Hospital, 777 Hemlock Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to the donor's favorite charity. Gene, son of Wilbur E. Bush, Sr. and the late Grace C. Bush, was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church. He was a longtime dedicated employee of Macon Supply. Gene was also an avid collector of southern folk pottery and primitive antiques. Mr. Bush is also survived by his sons, Eric Bush (Bryn), Wil Bush, and Rick Barnes (Cara), all of Macon; fiancée, Jill Wiegand, and her daughter, Kirsten Beardsley; sister, Janice B. Martin (Fleming) of Macon; grandchildren, Aidan Bush and Amelia Bush; niece, Amanda Blackwell (Nate); nephew, David Martin (Kelly); and his dog and loyal companion, Reba.
