Warren David Thornton

Warren David Thornton Warren David Thornton, 57, of Macon, GA passed away suddenly January 19, 2011. Warren was the son of Clara Strickland Thornton and the late E.D. Thornton of Blackshear. After many years away from his home state of Georgia, Warren and his family relocated to Macon in 2007. Warren was a 1971 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a Registered Nurse with the Medical Center of Central Georgia, in Macon. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife (and high school sweetheart) of 38 years, Nancy Gowen Thornton; his daughter Marla Farris and husband Anson of Macon; his son David Thornton and wife Lea of Waycross and son Matthew Thornton and fiancé Rhonda of Middletown, NY. Warren was a very loving "Pops" to his grandchildren: Kayla Farris of Tyler, TX; Celine Farris of San Diego, CA; Amelia Farris of Macon, GA and Travis Thornton of Middletown, NY. He leaves a twin brother, Wallace E. Thornton; a sister, Genevieve T. Thomas and husband Ray of Fountain, FL. ; his nieces and nephews Kristan T. Gilmer; Emily T. Milnor; Jason W. Thornton and James (Jamie) Taylor and their families; a special "other" daughter, Angie Donnell and children Nicole and Logan of Rockmart, GA. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests you make a donation to your favorite charity and spend a little extra time with your loved ones. Burial will be by cremation. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel in Blackshear. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Bill Young officiating. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory at the Cupola in Macon, GA and Pearson-Dial Funeral Home in Blackshear are in charge of arrangements.
