Wanzie T. Collins, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. Born on July 9, 1943, in Fort Valley, Georgia, he was the son of Wanzie Dalton and Lucy Mae Collins.
Wanzie dedicated 64 years of his life to the commercial printing industry, where his entrepreneurial spirit and steadfast work ethic shaped a remarkable career. In 1973, he purchased a small four-man shop, which he named Omni Press. That venture expanded when he acquired Southern Press in 1979, and by 1985, it had grown into the well-respected printing company Panaprint. Wanzie continued to serve as CEO, working three to four days a week until the time of his passing—a testament to his passion for his craft and his unwavering commitment to the people he led.
Wanzie deeply loved his family, his friends, and his work. He cherished traveling out West, looked forward to Tuesday night suppers with his dear friends, and found immense joy in the simple pleasure of good company. He was adored by his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa,” a title he held with great pride.
A member of New Heights Baptist Church in Macon, Wanzie lived a life grounded in faith, dedication, and generosity.
He is survived by his sons, W. Everette “Rette” Collins (Julie) and Christian Collins (Randy); his grandchildren Thomas Collins, Ashlyn Collins, Kelly Collins, and Claire Collins; his great-granddaughter Riverlyn Collins; and his sisters Sandra Collins-Rowland and Linda Clark. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends.
Wanzie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Laquita Collins.
He will be remembered for his integrity, his loyalty, his love for others, and the legacy he built through both his family and his work. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
