Walter Reid Copeland, Sr.

Macon-Walter Reid Copeland, Sr., 77, died June 9, 2009. Services will be held 11:00AM on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Lizella Baptist Church in the Christian Life Center with the Reverend Shannon Back officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2009, from 7:00-9:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Rd. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Medcen Foundation, 858 High Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Mr. Copeland was born to Lawry L. Copeland and Louise Davis Copeland. He graduated from Tennille High School in 1949 and retired from Allstate Insurance Company after 29 years of service. He was a member of Lizella Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kay Copeland Smelser.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Christine Tumlin Copeland of Macon; daughters, Ann Ingram (Joe), Linda Cater (Randy), and Jenny Grinstead (Ken) all of Macon; son, Reid Copeland (Marnie) of Senoia, GA; grandchildren, Leah Smelser, Christina Cater, Morgan Copeland, Rachael Copeland, Matthew Grinstead, Stephen Fisher, and Rebecca Fisher; and great grandchildren, Garrett and Gage Fisher.
