Valynda Park Neisler Dunn, age 95, passed away peacefully at Carlyle Place in Macon, Georgia on December 22; 2018. Her family and her loyal caregivers, Doris Prater and Amelia Hansford, were beside her until the end.
Valynda was born in Molena, Georgia on December 12, 1923, to Roe Marvin Park and Jewell Davis Park. She grew up on the family farm and was educated at the Molena, Pike County, Schools where she enjoyed starring in the one act play competitions. In later years, Valynda used her degree in education and opened a private kindergarten. The Methodist Children’s Home was always of special interest as she spent many days there getting to know the children and devoting time to distributing clothing and school supplies to the children. She became a young widow when her husband passed away at age 48 in 1975. After several years she met General Robert T. Dunn at their Sunday School Class at Mulberry Methodist Church. They were married and spent many wonderful years traveling and being among the first to move into Carlyle Place. Valynda is survived by her only daughter, Kay Neisler Amann (Peter) Atlanta; 2 granddaughters, Allisa Page Amann (Robert) Huestis, Athens, Anne Park Amann (Matt) Hopkins, Atlanta; 4 great grandchildren, Lilly, Grady, Brennan and Evelyn. She was predeceased by her great grandson, Peter Amann Hopkins and husband General Robert T Dunn.
