Valjean "Val" Gray Hogan

Valjean “Val” Gray Hogan, 62, of Macon, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 10:00AM at the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola with Pastor Leroy Foster officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Valjean Gray Hogan was born on September 13, 1957 to the parentage of Emma Jean Gray Grigley (deceased) and Johnny Willie Gray, Sr. (deceased).  She attended Central High School. She was employed at the Middle Georgia Hospital and Baldino's Sandwich Shop. Val was known for her love for cooking and baking her famous Red Velvet Cake. She cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren. Val leaves to cherish her memories:  a devoted husband of 25 years, Kenneth Hogan; two sons, Kenneth Charles Francis, Jr. and Odinga Kenyatta Francis, and a stepson, Dexter Hogan; two daughters, Chikenna Francis and Marlanea Jarrell (Will); two brothers, Johnny Gray, Jr. and Thomas Gray (Chinita); a sister, Janet Gray;a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family and friends, including a devoted aunt, Iona Gray and a devoted friend, Connie Williams. Grandchildren:  Christopher Michael, Breyuna Francis, Kenyatta Marquis Francis, Azhanti Francis, Akaizhe Francis, Zaki Amin, Elijah Jamar, Jayme Cooper, A'mya Jolly Dear Sister in Heaven I sit here and ponder how very much I'd like to talk with you today.  There are so many things that we didn't get to say.  I know how much you care for me, and how much I care for you, and each time that I think of you I know you'll miss me too.  An angel come and took you by the hand and said your place was ready in Heaven, far above...And you had to leave behind all those you dearly loved.  You had so much to live for, you had so much to do...It still seems impossible that God was taking you.  And though your life on earth is past, in Heaven it starts a new.  You'll live for all eternity, just as God has promised you.  And though you've walked through Heaven's gate, we are never far apart.  For every time I think of you, you're right here, deep with-in-my heart.
