Mr. Tracy “Jeff” Jefferson Hulsey, 66, of Macon, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Memorial services will be at Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2:00PM with the Reverend Doug Newberry officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
A hard-working man, Jeff worked at Armstrong for over thirty-six years. He was a member of the Local Steelworkers Union 461 and was a former volunteer fireman at Station One on Hwy 49. In Jones County, Jeff was known for the boiled peanut stand he ran for years on Hwy 49 and was affectionately called “the Peanut Man”. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Frances Hulsey; father-in-law, Henry Long; brother-in-law, George Kitchens; and his loving and faithful Shih Tzu, Jasmine. He is survived by his wife, Tina Hulsey; children, Amanda “Mandy” Sapp (Harold), George Adam Hulsey (Lindsey), James Schoepf (Crystal); grandchildren, Lindsey Grace Sapp, Hayden Garrett Sapp, Cassidy Hulsey, Emma Hulsey, Daniel Bryant, Colten Smith, Laila Wright, Jonathan Schoepf, and Daniel Schoepf; sisters, Donna Merritt (Terry) and Wanda Kitchens; mother-in-law, Geraldine Long (John Cranford); and sister-in-law, Cindy Eddy; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
