Tracy Worth Barlow, 87, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Hart’s at the Cupola, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tracy was born on September 28, 1934, in Macon Georgia, to the late Frank F. Barlow and Bessie Louise Kitchens Barlow. He was a graduate of Lanier High School. He then joined the United States Navy from 1952 to 1960. He worked at Macon Housing Authority as the Director of Technical Services before retiring after 54 ½ years of Service. A building at Macon Housing Authority was named after Tracy before his retirement. He was a member of the Howard Community Club and attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Tracy’s faith was strong, as was his love for his sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and those close to him. He never met a stranger and loved just sitting and talking to people for hours at a time. He was an avid reader, he loved fishing, spending time in Florida, riding around Macon, watching sports, and traveling in his spare time.
Tracy is survived by his son, Todd Barlow (Tammy); grandson, Matthew Barlow (Megan); granddaughter, Rachael Buchanan (Wesley); great-grandchildren, Jace, Grayson, and Hudson Barlow, and Landon and Adalynn Buchanan; and longtime companion, Diane Gambrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Barlow; son, Tracy (Tee) Worth Barlow, Jr.; parents; and siblings, Dorothy Hobbs, Frank Barlow, Jr., Mildred Kern, Hazel Crooms, Ray Barlow, Elsie Mailand, and Carol Bayne.
Hart’s at the Cupola, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210 has charge of the arrangements.
