Tommy Jean Griffith

Macon- Tommy Jean Griffith, 82, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 following a valiant battle against Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her family and loving pets. A memorial service will be held at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00AM. The Reverend Tommy Martin will officiate. Burial will be private at Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Macon Outreach at Mulberry, P. O. Mrs. Griffith was the daughter of the late Thomas Pirkle Dowda and the late Beulah Arzetta Nelson Dowda and the wife of the late William Thomas Griffith. She was predeceased by her son, William Thomas "Bill" Griffith, Jr. Mrs. Griffith was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Griffith is survived by her daughters, Amanda Eley (Jerry) and Amy Dever, both of Macon; grandchildren, Sara Jean Dever and Hayes Michael Dever, Jr., both of Macon; sister, Beulah Colquitt of Marietta; niece, Harriet Colquitt and nephew, Hugh Steven Colquitt, Jr., both of Marietta.
