Tommy Childs

Tommy Childs, 64, of Macon, died Sunday, November 22, 2015. The family will greet friends Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 1pm to 2pm at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Burial will private with Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210; or Save-A-Pet, http://www.saveapetinc.org/donate Tommy graduated from Lanier High School and Mercer University, followed by a long career with Delta Airlines. He also loved spending time at his cabin in Hawkinsville. Tommy was predeceased by his father, Thomas Lloyd Childs, Jr.; step-father, Bob Cooper; uncle, Walter Ard; and his grandparents, Hallie Obarr and Milledge C. Willis, and Minnie and Lloyd Childs Sr. The family would like to thank the staff of John Wesley Villas, Laglenda Alexander, and Lisa Mann for their care and compassion. Tommy is survived by his mother, Ray Willis Cooper of Macon; sister, Paula Kaplan (Clay) of Macon; nephews, Kent Kaplan of Birmingham, Alabama, and Will Kaplan of Jacksonville, Florida; aunt, Jean Ard of Macon; cousins, Sonny Ard (Brenda) of Macon and Linda Bloodworth (Mike) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; and his beloved dog, Libby.
