Timothy Wayne Minor, age 74, transcended into Heaven August 5, 2024. A funeral service will be held at Liberty Church Macon on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jack Osburn officiating. A graveside service will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will welcome and visit with friends one hour prior to the service.
Tim was born in Macon, GA, to the late Alvord Vixon Minor and Constance Hope Minor-Rachels. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fred Alvord Minor, sister Sandra Pelton, Pamela (Tommy) Norton and beloved friends and extended family members.
Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Merle LaRue Minor; his daughters, Ashley Minor (Brian) Beck of Perry GA, and Lauren Minor (Dameon) Vaughn of Macon; granddaughters, Kayla Ashlyn Watson and Kymbree Hope Watson of Macon, Isabella Rose Vaughn of Hinesville, GA, Josie Beck of Perry and Grandson, Joshua Beck of Perry; niece, Terri Norton; nephew, Andy Norton; great nieces: Mandy Miller of Chicago, Illinois, Jessica (Aaron) Smith of Yorktown, Virginia, Heather Norton of Edmonton, Alberta, and Hayley Jones of Macon; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Tim graduated from Willingham High School in 1968. He served in the National Guard for the 48th Infantry in Fort Jackson, South Carolina 1968-1974. He started his career in 1977 with Brown and Williamson where he worked as a Senior Fab Tech and was affectionately known as Heavy for 28 years, until he retired in 2004. He has lived in Macon GA for most of his life where he raised his daughters and played an inspirational part in his grandchildren’s lives who called him Big Daddy “Biggy”.
Tim was known for his passion for his family and the outdoors. His favorite hobbies throughout his life were fishing, hunting, and golfing. He loved to watch the Braves, Georgia football “Go Dawgs” and NASCAR. In the hearts of his loved ones, Tim’s memory will forever live on as a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for nature and his family.
The family would like to express special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors, caregivers, and friends that have provided their support, kindness, and compassion over the past several months.
