Thomas Richard Spivey, Sr., 57, of 4120 Dorothy Avenue, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverend Richard Jelly officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Mr. Spivey was retired from Colonial after thirty-three years of service. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Spivey was predeceased by his son, Thomas Richard Spivey, Jr.; his father, John Aaron Spivey; three brothers and three sisters. Mr. Spivey is survived by his mother, Emma Spivey; wife of forty years, Donna Harrell Spivey; daughters, Tami Hudson and Denise Yates (Gene); brothers, Joe Spivey, Gene Spivey and Jack Spivey (Pat); sister, Diane Taylor (Ed); eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Brandi Spivey Gee; several nieces and nephews.
