Thomas O Richardson, 67, of Flovilla, GA, passed away January 20, 2016 due to aggressive pancreatic cancer diagnosed Dec. 24. Thom was born in Jesup, Georgia on Dec. 18, 1948 to "Tinker" and Adeline Richardson. He graduated from Wayne County High School where he excelled in football and track and then attended Georgia Southern with a major in journalism. He's been married for over 32 years to Naomi Edmondson Richardson, living in Richmond Hill and Newnan Georgia before restoring an old Victorian home in Flovilla and retiring. Thom began his career as a radio announcer in Jesup and later Franklin, VA. He served as the Business Manager for the George Anne while in college, later buying and operating the Nassau County Record newspaper a few years in Callahan, FL. More than 30 years of his working career were loyally dedicated to Carey Hilliard's Restaurants through serving in various roles of responsibility as the company grew to multiple locations and expanded lines of business. He was a devoted husband and father and spent his time away from work with his family, his home and community. He endeavored to "never be considered just average" in any role he played. He loved theater and music of all genres, lately focusing on Spanish Guitar. He is survived by his wife and children, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin L Stanford Jr., Mr. and Mrs. J Kyle Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Marchand and Matthew Owen Richardson. Additionally he has 5 young grandchildren. 7 nieces and 7 nephews; many cousins as well as 2 brothers; 1 sister; 3 brothers in-law; 3 sisters in-law and his mothers and fathers in-law. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 24th, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at 765 Cherry Street in Macon, Burial will follow in the Flovilla North City Cemetery. The family will greet friends Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 4pm to 6pm at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street and also from 1pm until 2pm on Sunday, the 24th.
