Thomas Freeman Poole, Jr.

Thomas Freeman Poole, Jr., of Macon, died Monday, January 12, 2015. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00AM at Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Poole, son of the late Thomas Freeman Poole, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Deal Poole, was born in Donovan, Johnson County, Georgia. He graduated from Wrightsville High School where he had an outstanding sports record and attended Brewton Parker College and Mercer University. Mr. Poole was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and worked for several years as a consultant at National Systems Management and Air Italia. He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and the Brotherhood Sunday School Class. Mr. Poole was a Mason for more than fifty years, serving as Worshipful Master of Fort Hawkins Lodge in Macon #418, and he was a member of Scottish Rite and a past member of Al Sihah Shrine Temple. He worked with Vine-Ingle Little League and teenage baseball and church softball leagues for twenty-five years. Mr. Poole was predeceased by his wife, Lila Brown Poole and his sister, Betty P. Harper. Mr. Poole is survived by his children, Deborah Johnston of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Tom Poole (Erin) of The Woodlands, Texas and Bobby Poole (Yang) of Macon; grandchildren, Chan Johnston, Kerry Johnston, Stephany Johnston, Brennan Poole, Wynser Poole, Jameson Thomas Poole and Jase Yang Poole; two great-grandchildren.
