Thomas Allen Nash

May 31, 1920 — March 12, 2009

Macon-Thomas Allen Nash died Thursday, March 12, 2009. Services will be held 2:00PM on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with the Reverend Robert Kerr officiating. Visitation will be following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA 31210.

Mr. Nash was born in Wilkes County, GA., the son of the late Thomas Reid Nash and the late Sarah Meadows Nash. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. One of his jobs was to guard the Enola Gay. He worked in the grocery business for over forty years in Atlanta, Jonesboro, and Lovejoy. He was a longtime member of Columbia Drive Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed horseback riding and hunting. Mr. Nash was a good and generous man, a devoted husband, father and brother. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Nash of Macon; two sons, Kenneth (Mary) Nash of Beverly Hills, FL and Dennis (Polly) Nash of Covington, GA; three grandchildren, Meghan and Heather Nash of Beverly Hills, FL and Reid Nash of Covington, GA; sister, Eleanor N. Davis of Macon.
