Thomas Luther Leonard

Macon- Thomas Luther Leonard died October 27, 2011. He was 96 years old. He was born October 31, 1914 in Harlowe, North Carolina to Thomas Luther Leonard & Allena Pearl Taylor. He had lived in Macon, Ga from 1949 to 2008 & lived in the same house for 54 years before he was moved to assisted living in Carrollton, Ga. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II & retired as a Captain in the Army Reserves. He was a salesman selling feed for chickens for several companies & sold brick for Cherokee Brick & Tile Co for many years. He was a member of Cross Keys Methodist Church. He had been an avid golfer & had been a member of the MGA at Bowden Golf Course. Beside golf, he enjoyed painting, photography, & music. He is preceded in death by his parents & is survived by his wife, Marjorie Leonard and daughter Judy Anderson from Villa Rica, Ga; son Thomas Leonard from Eau Claire, WI; two granddaughters, Teresa Alderman of Villa Rica & Tara Bracewell of East Dublin, Ga; a grandson, Tech Anderson of Dallas, Ga, & 7 greatgrandchildren. Services will be on Monday, October 31, 2001, at Cross Keys Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM and a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00AM. The Reverend Lee Bennett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Cross Keys Methodist Church in memory of Thomas Leonard. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
