Obituary

Thomas Mason Hatcher, 44, entered into Heaven’s gates on Thursday, October 29,2026. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose humor, love of music, and unique spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him. Thomas had a jokester’s personality and a way of bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. He was unapologetically himself, with a love for punk rock, heavy metal, and playing guitar. One of his proudest pastimes was playing in the band Caution the Senate, formed alongside his brother Justin. Through music, Thomas created memories that will live on long after the final song has ended. He also had a passion for Halloween and horror movies, making it his favorite time of year. Thomas treasured the simple things in life, including his beloved cats, Critter, Pippin, and Vincent, his faithful dog, Biscuits, playing video games with his sons and his mother’s homemade buttermilk pies.

Above all, Thomas loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Maggie Hatcher; children, Thomas Hatcher and Oliver Hatcher; cherished grandchild, Dallas Hatcher; parents, Angela and Joel Jones and Phillip Hatcher; siblings, Richard, Justin, Sherri, Dane Jr., Kim, and Sam; along with many beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, with whom he shared a special bond, especially his beloved Ma and Pop. Though his family and friends must now face life without his laughter and unmistakable personality, his memories, music, and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. As we entrust Thomas into the loving hands of the Lord, may his family find comfort in the promise of eternal life. His time here was far too short, but the love he gave and the memories he created will never be forgotten. Thomas will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Until we meet again, may he rest in the eternal peace and presence of God.

A funeral service celebrating Thomas’s life will be held on November 7th at 1:00 p.m. at: Elam Baptist Church 203 Elam Church Road Gray, Georgia 31032. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private and held at West View Cemetery in Wrightsville, Georgia.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Thomas’s life, sharing stories, memories, and the love that will forever keep his memory alive.

Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, has been trusted with the arrangements.
