Theodore "Tedd" Oscar Boettger was born August 27, 1923, in Steger, Illinois. Raised during the Depression, Tedd joined the Army at a young age, serving in the 22nd General Hospital in England during the Blitz. After the war, he returned to Chicago, worked for International Harvester Company and in 1952, married Geraldine (Lytthans) Boettger. The couple welcomed a son, Kevin, and a daughter, Holly, raising them in Riverdale, Illinois. Shortly after his retirement, the couple moved to Alabama and after his wife's death, Tedd (aka the "The Crazy Yanky") became an active member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. In 2007, he moved to Macon to live with Holly and her husband, John Tong. Tedd was a gardener, a fisherman, a wood carver and a lover of nature. He was a blessing to five grandchildren (Joshua, Zachary and Katelyn Tong, David and Bradley Boettger) and three great-grandchildren (Darianna, Natasha and Richard Boettger, children of David Boettger and his wife Sarah). On April 27, 2016, God called him home to join his wife Geraldine, son Kevin and mother Elsie in Eternal Life. We love you, Pop, and we will miss you.
